Continuing its rash of recent recalls, Volvo has announced the recall of certain 2011 model year vehicles over fuel delivery concerns. The recall covers the 2011 S80, S60, XC70 and XC60 models.

According to Volvo, some 2011 model year vehicles left the factory with faulty software calibrations, which could interfere with fuel cut-off functionality. If the fuel-cut off is inadvertently activated, the vehicle could stall, increasing the likelihood of a crash.

To fix the problem, Volvo dealers will update the vehicles’ Engine Control Modules with new software. An official recall notice to owners is expected early next month.

The recall covers 6,046 vehicles
